So I've been in NY (Ithaca) for the past two weeks. I am working out that way on a lighting contract for the Lansing school district. Despite being 320 miles from home and only having Sundays off I have been managing to have a pretty good time. I have been playing some improv. street music (primarily Blues) with a few people on the commons there. We are calling ourselves "Satan and the Baitfish", and having a blast, not to mention making some pretty good tips (which I give to the others, I'm making more than enough at work and play only for the love of the music).
I will be heading back out there next Sunday for another two weeks before coming home for a weekend; and so on in that fashion for the next 2-3+ months.

I had today off, and spent it nursing a mild hang over. The hang over was easily killed with a good breakfast. I spent most of the rest of the day meditating on the way the world is going, why the news doesn't give it more than 15 sec. between the latest Hollywood BS and the weather; and how the later plays into the former. I managed to write a few short pieces and get a few steps further brainstorming the big research poem. Back to work tomorrow, a mystery job I might be back tomorrow night, it might be a week, who knows.

Not too much has been up lately... for those who have been wondering about my writing, IDK I've been in a funk all around lately, working on some projects but I can't seem to motivate myself to do much more than get up go to work, come home and sleep (what little sleep I get) I've been having some messed up dreams lately.
I've been forcing myself not to think about CJ and the fact that she's gone, like really gone; and I keep seeing her in my dreams. (she killed herself in April)
IDK I'm not much for putting personal crap into journals it makes me feel like I'm bitching about nothing, or at least nothing important... anywho figured I'd update you guys a little and let you know I'm kind of still here and still alive and kicking.
I'm gonna go watch Cadillac Records (Yay Blues )

Tony Brown is a poet on the Worcester Massachusetts poetry scene, without who's writing, you would not have my poetry here to read... It was several years ago and I had pretty much writ my poetry off completely when I first heard him read... and no I don't remember the words he spake; but I do most certainly recall the fire that rose slowly from my feet and soon engulfed me. I knew then that I must write and write till one day I may achieve that moment that I felt for at least one other. I won't need to be told it, I'll see it in the faces of the crowd when the day comes. But instead of my desperately trying to do the man justice... here just listen for yourself.
